Sites That Really Can Bring You Free Website Traffic

Use this search feature to quickly find information you're looking for!

By Daniel D Dwase

Link Referral

When I first set up a LinkReferral account, I really didn't have much faith in the amount of so-called "free website traffic" it could really generate for my site.

It just didn't seem realistic. After all, the only visitors that could be referred to my site were other members. And how many people could that really be?

It turns out there's an extremely high volume of traffic on this site. Tons of sites are actually generating free website traffic from LinkReferral.

free website traffic

After I began to analyze my site stats - a huge chunk of my traffic was coming from LinkReferral alone. And not just any traffic, but targeted traffic; people who are actually interested in what your site has to offer.

I couldn't help but wonder how it was even possible to generate this much free website traffic.

It is the social networking component that makes it work so well and gets people clicking. They offer incentives for visiting other people's sites and take the time to comment on and review them.

The incentive: your site is actually ranked, not by how many people visit your site, but by how many sites you actually visit and review.

And of course, the higher your rank the more exposure your site will get, the more exposure you get, the more free website traffic you get. I think you're starting to get the picture.

The site encourages people to visit your site. So LinkReferral is one site that actually does what it promises. It really can bring more traffic to your site.

Squidoo

This is another site I almost slept on. I was confused by its format: the lens. I couldn't grasp exactly what that meant - so I took my time in creating a lens.

At best, it was a stab in the dark. The lens concept really is quite different from a blog or a website.

Lens is actually like a snap shot that can be used to promote products or even your website.

Its great ranking system and social networking component makes it easy to get visitors to your lens, visitors who with the right coaxing, could end up on your site.

A great way to coax them to your website is by posting your site's feed directly onto your lens. It will update every time you update your site and will provide a direct link to your website.

The great part about Squidoo, is that they've already got a module to promote Amazon.com and other products and they share any Google revenue you bring in at the end of every month. They even have a "donate to charity" feature.

Don't forget to compose an eye-catching profile. You have the option of placing links to your site there, as well as links to your Twitter page, Facebook and others.

You can cash in on the traffic over and over by creating more and more lenses. You could even get bold and create a group. Place your feed there, too.

If you try no other social networking sites, try these two and see how much free website traffic you really can build yourself.
