Blog Marketing: 3 Qualities You'll Need to Successfully Market Your Blog
| |
Blog marketing requires creativity, patience, and persistence. These three qualities are necessary when it comes to promoting your blog.
It won't matter how many strategies you read about, if you haven't developed these qualities, you're going to lose stamina right when you need it the most.
Blogging can be fun as well as profitable, but it can also be hard work. If you can apply these three qualities to marketing your blog, you'll be well on your way to a successful blog.
Blog Marketing Tip #1: Be Creative
|
Running a successful blog is a business, but it's also an art, therefore you'll need to be creative.
I can give you a thousand tips, but if youÕre not creative, you won't be able to adapt them to your own niche Ð there's no such thing as one-size-fits-all approach to marketing your blog.
You'll need to be imaginative in order to develop new and innovative ways to get the word out about your blog.
Use your unique perspective and imagination to push the limits of traditional marketing. People who are able to think outside the box are the ones who succeed.
You must devote some time to come up with new ideas to market your blog or else youÕll drown in a sea of the same old thing.
Consider this outside of the box tidbit: just because you're trying to promote a blog online doesn't mean you can't promote it offline.
You can use some of the same techniques that you would use for a regular business to market your blog, especially if they can help you reach members of your target audience.
For example: if your blog is devoted to fitness and weight loss - why not partner with the owner of a local gym and get permission to post an advertisement on a bulletin board or pass out flyers or business cards with your blogÕs URL?
The owner may even be interested in offering commissions for referrals you make online - the possibilities really could be endless if you just act on them. You never know where something will lead until you actually get moving on it.
Use your car to market your blog. As long as your URL is not too long and complicated, most people who are interested in you're niche will make a mental note to check out your blog. Below is how I use my car to market this website and has led to people getting in touch with me to build their websites for them.

I wouldn't say that this is best method for every niche, but it can certainly get your URL out there. Again, you never know who's watching.
The key here is to use any and all free and low-cost marketing methods as you can. In order to do that, you'll have to be creative.
Blog Marketing Tip #2: Be Patient
It will take some patience in order to invest the time that is necessary for promoting your blog.
You'll need to accept that things take time - and they almost always take more time than you think they will. Effective marketing often depends on perfect timing and planning that can't be rushed.
You'll want to set up a blog with ample content before you ever attempt to promote it.
Blog Marketing Tip #3: Be Persistent
Every marketing method will require you to be persistent. Keep working at it until you reach a level of exposure you are happy with.
You don't need super-guru status to be successful, but you will need to continuously and consistently market your blog.
Don't get discouraged. If you quit, failure is guaranteed, but the more you keep trying, the greater your chance will be of achieving your goals.
You can read all the articles and ebooks you want, watch every blog marketing video there is, but if you don't use your own creativity, exercise some patience, and stay persistent in putting your plans and ideas into action, nothing else will matter.
